Royal Flying Doctors Service
Activities:
• Tours are conducted every half hour from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
- providing a comprehensive overview of the history and contemporary
operations of the RFDS including:
• Visitors view a 15 minute film, “ A Day in the Life
of the Flying Doctor” shot on location from our Cairns
base. (with subtitles if required)
• Hear about the history and contemporary operations of the
service and observe a demonstration of the famous pedal radio.
• Climb aboard and inspect a Queenair aircraft once used by
the service.
• Browse through our museum containing a considerable collection
of historical and modern photographs and memorabilia showing
the development of the service since 1978.
• The Outback Shop, with a wide range of souvenirs and gifts.
Opening Times & Fees
Cost :$5.50 adults, $2.75 children, $16.50 family.
Opening Hours: 8.30 am to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday
