Name
giving ceremonies has a history almost as old as the human
race. It symbolises a significant event in a couples life
and that of the child. It is a considered a formal introduction
of your newborn to your family and friends and for them to
share the naming of the child in their presence.
A name giving ceremony is not a baptism or a christening.
The name giving ceremony conducted by a civil
celebrant is a fulfilling and meaningful experience for
all concerned. It is an occasion when a new birth is celebrated
and a child is welcomed into the world. Family relationships
are deepened, and they become more fully aware of their responsibilities.
Name giving ceremonies can be conducted in Cairns, Port Douglas,
Yungaburra and throughout Far North Queensland. Please contact
Lucia for more information about availability,
God Parents
Couples may elect to have "God Parents" for the
child. God Parents are traditionally mentors that you as a

alongside the parents.
