Consistency
To develop powerful strokes and good footwork in the long run you must first develop consistency in your game.
The quickest way to do this is to practice a single stroke (eg. forehand topspin) on one line and work on setting 25 then 50 then 100 strokes on in a roe without missing.
As your consistency develops it also helps to practice footwork by having your playing partner hit the ball to various parts of the table while you hit to one place.
Probably the two most important elements of consistency practice are :
- To persist when the skill is still developing
- To stay relaxed.
